NACC MA member Prox Dynamics/Arne Skjaerpe and NACC MA President KBP spoke at the recent NATO Industry Day held in Norfolk.  Prox Dynamics had a chance to show its Black Hornet to NATO officers including General Mercier/Supreme Allied Commander Transformation.  The topics for the symposium ranged from future trends, threats & opportunities for NATO, Doing Business with NATO, Cyber Security, disruptive technologies, and a presentation of the recent I3X exercise (Industry Involvement Initiative.) On Tuesday, April 5th 2016, The Royal Norwegian Embassy, in cooperation with Kongsberg Satellite Services, hosted a breakfast seminar on Satellite Technologies in Fisheries Monitoring and Surveillance. The program featured speakers from, amongst others, Kongsberg Satellite Services, the Standing Committee of Parliamentarians in the Arctic Region, the Royal Norwegian Navy, and the Office of Marine Conservation, U.S. Department of State. NACC MA appreciates the opportunity to take part of such a great event.      

Nordic Young Associates Happy Hour in Washington DC

The Nordic Happy hour on Thursday April 14th was a success where young associates working around the DC metro area came together to enjoy networking and a happy hour. The event was hosted by the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, the Danish-American Business Council and the Finlandia Foundation. We are already looking forward to the next one in June!

NACC-MA, in collaboration with the Nordic councils and U.S. Department of Commerce, co-hosted an informative and interactive event on March 15th at the Embassy of Denmark that gave the participants valuable insights into how to succeed in the U.S. market. A special thank you to the great speakers from the U.S. Department of Commerce and SelectUSA, as well as the representatives from Dominion Voltage, Tacton, and Kongsberg Defense Systems, who all shared their success stories with us.

The event attracted 36 attendees, including Corporate, Professional and Young Associates members from our Chamber as well as representatives from the Embassy and Defense Attachée’s Office. The Norwegian Embassy hosted a pre-launch for the project “Norway Creates Jobs in the US” at the Hawk ‘n’ Dove December 10th. Congress representatives and staffers joined Embassy staff, NACC-MA board members and member companies to learn more about how Norway and Norwegian companies create jobs in the United States. The project is a comprehensive study on the Norwegian economic impact in all 50 states of the US.
