The Norwegian Embassy hosted a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Union Station December 1st. The tree is a gift from Norway to the people of Washington, and a symbol of Norway’s appreciation for the strong friendship and relations between Norway and the U.S.
Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski lighted the Tree and Norwegian singer Ida Jenshus entertained us with her lovely voice. With traditional Norwegian “gløgg”, Norwegian gingerbread cookies and a visit from Santa himself it was the perfect way to start the Holiday season. Thank you to our members that attended.
