There are three categories of individual membership. They include
individual, family and honorary members. Family membership include two
members from the same family.
Individual, family and honorary members are residents of the United States
or Norway. Individual members participate in various committees in area of
their professional or specific interest.
Honorary members are distinguished individuals who are members of the
business, political, diplomatic, or religious community, and are elected at
any meeting of the Board of Directors by unanimous vote. Honorary members
are entitled to all the privileges of regular members, other than the right
to vote, but are exempt from payment of any dues or other charges assessed
against other categories of members. The Norwegian Ambassador to the United
States, Knut Vollebęk is currently honorary chairman and honorary member of
the Mid-Atlantic Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce.
