The Norwegian Parliament's Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs

The Norwegian Parliament's Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs visited Washington D.C. on November 3, 2003. During the dinner event hosted by the Embassy, the presentation by NACC MA president Atle B. Nordvik focused on activities of the Mid Atlantic Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce. The presentation included the Chamber's networking capabilities and purpose to create goodwill, trade and business opportunities between members and across the Atlantic. Also mentioned was the Chamber's intention to become active in clean drinking water and other projects related to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

The Norwegian Parliament's Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs

Mrs. Ågot Valle, President of the Odelsting, heads the Norwegian Parliament's Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs. The 10-member Committee consist of representatives from the Parliament's various political parties. The Committee deals with constitutional matters, allocations to the Parliament, and legislation relating to elections. The Committee's function is described in The Norwegian Parliament's Rules of Procedures Chapter 3, Section 12.8.
