Annual Nordic Networking Event
May 15, 2007

The Fourth Annual Nordic Networking Event was held on Tuesday, May 15th at the House of Sweden in Washington, DC and focused on energy trends, consumption and alternative green energy sources in a presentation by Sarah Ladislaw (pictured).

The networking event took place against the backdrop of the Water and Environment Exhibition at the House of Sweden. The exhibition coincides with the International Polar Year, a large scientific program focused on the Arctic and the Antarctic from March 2007 to March 2009. The program involves 200 projects and is bringing 60 countries together for research on issues such as climate change in the polar region (www.ipy.org)

Speaker Sarah Ladislaw, CSIS Fellow, Energy Program gave a very interesting presentation on clean and renewable energy and innovative environmental technologies titled "Global Energy Trends and Clean Energy Opportunities".

The event was attended by representatives from the Nordic family including The Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce Mid-Atlantic, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C., the American-Danish Business Council, the Finish-American Business Council of the Greater Washington Area and the Icelandic-American Chamber of Commerce.

The chambers would like to thank the Embassy of Sweden for the use of the new and impressive House of Sweden building.
