Annual Meeting
March 16th, 2005

The Chamber's Annual Meeting was held at the Kenwood Golf & Country Club at 5601 River Rd, Bethesda, MD 20816 March 16, 2005 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Our Honorary Chairman Ambassador Knut Vollebaek and 18 members attended the meeting. The meeting was followed by a reception and dinner for 33 members and guests. The agenda items included:

  • Treasurer's Report - 2004 Accounts and 2005 Budget
  • Report of Nomination and Election Committee

Summary of Discussions

The minutes of meeting of last Annual Meeting March 12, 2004 and the new Bylaws were unanimously approved.

2004 was an active year for our Chamber. One Annual, two Board and four Executive Committee meetings were held during the year. The various events ranged from committee meetings, networking and social events including Nordic Networking, Annual Dinner, Spring and Christmas parties, to meetings with members of The U.S. House of Representatives, the Ministry of Defense, the Norwegian Parliament's Standing Committee on Defense, Round table discussions with the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Corporate membership increased from 30 to 38 and total members listed increased from 112 to 152. Among the 152 individual members, 96 were company representatives and 56 were individual members. Of the 38 member companies 21 were American, 12 Norwegian subsidiaries and 5 Norwegian. The 8 new corporate members included: Certified Components Int'l, Inc (White), Raytheon (Blue), Jakob Hatteland Display (White), Fred Olsen Fly og Luftmateriell (Blue), ScanTravel International Inc. (White), HÅG Inc. (White), NAMMO Inc. (Blue), and Rooney Group International Inc. (Blue).

The Treasurer presented the 2004 Financial Summary and approved the Financial Statements presented.

The Annual Meeting unanimously approved the 2005 Board of Director candidates presented by the Nomination Committee. The new board will consist of the following individuals (in alphabetical order):
