NACC MA Strategy Committee Meeting
January 8, 2008

The Chamber held a strategy committee meeting on January 8th to review the current status of the organization after almost 6 years of operation. The review process was a follow-up from the membership survey conducted early 2007. The survey was developed to seek member feedback and preferences on NACCMA meeting programs, member communications and overall membership benefits and services to better support the diverse group of corporate and individual members in the future.

The majority of respondents were corporate members and small business owners, experienced professionals and mid-carrier professionals, working in corporate management, sales, marketing, financial and legal professions.

Business and professional connections, networking, and the opportunity to promote their organization were the most important benefits to members and, in general, the respondents were satisfied with the Chamber's program and services and membership and programs had helped 80% in creating new business opportunities or professional contacts.

Even though the chamber's focus has been to promote trade and develop business, financial, and professional interests and goodwill between Norway and the U.S., the committee discussed the need to strengthen the focus on business and networking by utilizing the D.C. area's advantages of being a political and financial center for government relation and businesses.
