The Tandberg Inc. Executive Briefing Center
February, 2006

TANDBERG's visual communication technology provides state of the art distant meeting and communication capabilities in real face-to-face atmosphere.

At TANDBERG's US Head Quarter in Reston, Virginia the Norwegian-based company has created a new Executive Briefing Center. The center demonstrates how visual communication empowers organizations and individuals to be more productive and cost-effective in an increasingly global trade and business environment. Not only does videoconferencing allow companies to decrease costly and time-consuming travel, it also enables them to make decisions more quickly, extend the knowledge of subject-matter experts, unify organizations, and improve work-life balance.

The Chamber members were recently invited for a tour into TANDBERG's new visual world. The Reston office is designed as a "visually-enabled office" showcasing video systems for executive offices, boardrooms, training facilities, desktops and industry applications. The facility includes TANDBERG's latest product, a telepresence room for an immersive, true-to-live video experience.

The members met with the CEO Fredrik Halvorsen (pictured below) and his staff. They were informed about how TANDBERG's total solution ties together video, voice and presence. "Our systems enable a true and natural communication for all levels of an organization" said Halvorsen. Statoil is one of Tandberg's clients making use of video-based conference calls when executing off-shore repairs and crisis management.

TANDBERG is a global company with joint headquarters in the United States and Norway, and customers in 90 countries. The representation in the Americas (Canada, US and Latin America) amounts to approximately 50% of the business worldwide. Tandberg reported fourth quarter 2006 results:

  • Record revenue of 130.8 MUSD with volume of 12,744 units
  • Pre-tax profit of 32.5 MUSD
  • Operating expenses reflecting business momentum and continued investment
  • Solid cash flow from operations of 45.6 MUSD
  • Announcement of HP alliance and TANDBERG telepresence solution
