The NACC MA Defense Technology Committee presentation focused on the uniqueness of a group representing several of the world's leading defense contractors and its great potential to stimulate and facilitate joint U.S. and Norwegian defense contractor businesses, and included the committee's goal to extend the committee with additional American and Norwegian defense contractors to broaden business opportunities. The Defense Technology Committee currently consists of 12 defense and related companies and has 18 members.
The discussion and exchange of information that followed the presentation focused on the Norwegian defense procurement policy, requirements related to Norwegian defense industry participation in cooperative defense technology programs and related licensing and security issues. Assistance to Norwegian smaller companies in how to conduct business in the U.S., product and compatibility requirements, and efforts to broaden the business relations with Norwegian companies was also part of the discussions.
It is believed that cooperation through membership and participation in the NACC MA Defense Committee can broaden business relations across the Atlantic and among member companies in the two countries.
