The purpose of this committee is to keep abreast of developments in the
energy and environment sectors in the United States and Norway. The
committee will focus on efforts to improve energy efficiency, energy trading
and market systems, development of alternative energy sources, energy and
environmental policies, the availability of new technologies, environmental
effects, and business opportunities for our members in the energy and
environment sectors.
The committee consists of members with professional expertise and experience
in the energy and environmental business sectors and hosts meetings with
high level governmental and private sector representatives.
The committee maintains a network of contacts with the Embassy's energy
section, Norwegian and U.S. politicians, energy providers, oil companies,
environmental associations, research institutes, contractors and technology
manufacturers. The network will provide the basis for development of
goodwill, effective bridge building, and business relations in the energy,
