GENERAL MANAGER NACC MA in Washington, D.C.

The Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Inc. in Washington, D.C.(NACC MA) is looking for a new General Manager. The General Manager will hold the most important and publicly exposed position in our organization and we are searching for an individual with the ability, experience, enthusiasm and knowledge of how to build a networking organization as well as maintaining the day to day operations of the Chamber.

The successful candidate will be able to exert influence on the future development of the Chamber through participation both in the Executive Committee and by attending meetings of the Board of Directors as well as through communications with external parties. All qualified candidates will, following initial interviews with representatives of the Executive Committee, be invited to present their candidacy including suggestions for the future development and direction of the Chamber to the Board of Directors for their evaluation. Following such presentation and the Board’s decision the successful candidate is expected to take up his/her duties no later than January 1 2010. Job description and application details

 

 


Litigation Clerks/Legal Assistants

The Washington DC office of a prominent Intellectual Property Law Firm is seeking litigation clerks to join their dynamic litigation legal assistant department.  These positions will assist the Case Manager and litigation legal assistants with all facets of the litigation process.  All candidates must possess some degree of skill in the Norwegian language, from intermediate level to fluent will be considered. 
Please note that this is a legal assistant/administrative support role, not an associate/J.D. position.

Responsibilities include: maintaining correspondence and pleadings, assisting in the distribution of documents, utilizing litigation software such as Summation and/or Concordance, assisting with document productions, including copy checking, redacting, and proofreading, maintaining deposition files and deposition databases, assisting with filings and assisting in all aspects of the preparation for trial and attending trial.

Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, the ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast paced environment and the flexibility to travel and work overtime are required.

Salary range from $38 to $40K.
