2004 was an active year for our Chamber. It is with great pleasure that I present the Annual Report of the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce, Mid-Atlantic Chapter Inc. (NACC MA). The main goals for 2004 were to provide networking and marketing opportunities for our members and arrange meetings with high profile leaders from the public and private sectors, increase the network of companies and individuals, and secure funding of increased activities and augmented administrative efforts. I am pleased to report that all of these goals were successfully accomplished.

The Chamber continued its growth in 2004. At the end of the year the diverse membership portfolio consisted of 38 member companies of which 21 were American, 12 Norwegian subsidiaries and 5 Norwegian. One of our goals has been to develop a membership base in Norway and a bridge between Norwegian and Americans with common business interests. We are making progress in this effort and 18 of our members now live in Norway. The 150-member milestone was reached last year, and among our 152 individual members, 98 are company representatives and 54 are individual members.

It is a great pleasure for me to present the 2003 Annual Report of the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce, Mid-Atlantic (NACC MA). The main goals for 2003 were to provide networking and marketing opportunities for our members and arrange meetings with high profile leaders from the public and private sectors, increase the network of companies and individuals, number of Norwegian member companies, and secure funding of increased activities and augmented administrative efforts. I am pleased to report that all of these goals were successfully completed.

The Chamber continued its successful growth in 2003, despite the soft economy and tightened corporate budgets. At the end of 2003, the diverse membership portfolio consisted of 30 member companies of which 18 were American, 9 Norwegian subsidiaries and 3 Norwegian. Among the 112 individual members, 65 represent the companies and 47 are individual members. The progress was achieved by outstanding support and assistance from the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, the committees, members, and by excellent support from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington D.C.

It is a great pleasure for me to provide you with the first annual report of the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce, Mid-Atlantic (NACC MA). The outstanding support and assistance from the Organizing Committee, our Secretary, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Ad-Hoc committees, website sponsors, members, and especially the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington D.C., have greatly contributed to the successful start of our Chamber.

The main goals in 2002 were to structure the organization, develop by-laws, establish affiliation agreement with the national Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce, incorporate as a non-profit separate legal entity, develop a membership base of 50 members, make website and information brochure, create a reserve fund, and arrange meetings for members with high profile Norwegians from the public and private sectors. I am pleased to report that all of these goals have been successfully completed, and I am confident that a strong foundation has been created to insure continued growth.
